Family History on the Road – A “how to” for oral histories

Our Oral History guide will help teachers, students and families through the process of conducting an oral history, with sample questions and interviewing tips.

We encourage all families in our community today, whether or not they are originally from this area, to try conducting an oral history with a family member. This unique opportunity enables students to experience the process of learning to interview, while learning the importance and understanding of their place in their family’s ongoing history and why it is necessary to preserve this history for the next generation.

Contact us with questions, and explore the oral histories we have collected over the years to get some ideas.
