Joseph Dunn was the first Jewish captain of a Hartford Public High School football team. His 1917-18 teams were undefeated and unscored upon. Dunn also played for the Lyrics, a semi-pro team which preceded the Hartford YMHA club. He later played on Boston University’s football team while he was a student there.
