Bennett Meyers

Inducted into Jewish Sports Hall of Fame 1983

Bennett Meyers played three sports – baseball, basketball, and football – at Weaver High School and was chosen for the All-City Basketball Team in 1933. He went on to Amherst where he served as captain of the baseball team and was voted the best second baseman at the college. He also played tennis at Amherst and was a city champion from a young age.

A teacher and athletic coach throughout his career, he coached a number of sports at several schools and was dean of boys at the Loomis Chaffee School. For fifteen years he played semi-pro baseball throughout New England.
