Simon Levy

Simon Levy

Simon Levy’s proficiency on the football field as a long snapper and linebacker, fueled by his focus, personality and dedication, is what contributed to his being elected by his teammates to be captain of the varsity team in 2023. The football field, where he is surrounded by his approving squad members and proud coaches, is just one of the locations where Simon feels most at home. Throughout the last several years he could just as easily have been found at West Hartford’s Beth El Temple and the Mandell Jewish Community Center, both of which hold a special place in his heart equal to the gridiron.

Another place waits in the wings for the gifted athlete: he is preparing for his college career at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. His decision followed an active recruitment period that involved offers from many other colleges. Simon had plenty to show, academically and athletically. He was a starting linebacker on the Hall High School football team for two seasons, for which he was a prolific long snapper for punts, field goals, and extra points; he was ranked by college football experts as the top-rated long snapper in the State of Connecticut, a Top 10-ranked long snapper for the New England region, and a nationally-ranked long snapper for the nationwide high school graduating class of 2024. That’s in addition to other national recognition by college sports recruitment agencies. He was also named for three consecutive years to the All-Academic Conference Football Team. In addition, Simon felt at home for three years on yet another field—a diamond—as a member of the Hall High School baseball team.
