Albert Rosenfield

Inducted into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, 1995

A volunteer for the Special Olympics for 25 years, Rosenfield was honored as an outstanding volunteer in 1991. He helped children with special needs at the Jewish Community Center’s swim and gym program. He volunteered at the Intensive Education Academy for many years and was involved with the Connecticut Jimmy Fund Council and the Probus Club.

As an athlete, Rosenfield was a marathon runner (participating in the Manchester Thanksgiving Road Race for 22 consecutive years), a badminton star and a basketball and baseball player at the University of Connecticut-Hartford campus. An automobile parts salesman for Acme Auto, he once ran the whole length of his 42-mile sales route to raise funds for the Intensive Education Center in West Hartford.
