A Synagogue Takes Root in the Farmington Valley 3.29.22

March 29, 2022 “A Synagogue Takes Root in the Farmington Valley”

The building of a Jewish community in the Farmington Valley started in 1961 when two couples searched through the area phone book to locate other Jewish families.

From this humble beginning, the Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation-Emek Shalom established a Jewish presence and grew to serve the growing Jewish population moving into the area.  This virtual program featured members, leaders of this community, and those who were a part of the sixty-year history sharing anecdotes and reflecting on the growth and change over the years.
