Ronit is a co-founder of the Miracle League, which debuted in 2012 to ensure that every child, regardless of their personal challenges, has an opportunity to engage in sporting activities, and Jonathan’s Dream, founded in 1996 as a specially designed playground on the JCC campus built with total inclusion in mind.
Ronit has been heavily involved in helping the Miracle League— the first of its kind in New England—expand its offerings to include adapted bike riding lessons, swim classes and accessible community events. And for Jonathan’s Dream, she tirelessly engaged donors in a successful effort to raise over $1 million to cover the construction and management costs. The playground is a testament to the fostering of a sense of unity and fun without barriers.
She also played a pivotal role in establishing the West Hartford Little League and currently serves on its board of directors. Ronit, who also sits on the Mandell JCC board, is living proof that a devotion like hers to the community, to sportsmanship and to children with special needs is an attribute both to emulate and admire.
