he Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford, established in 1971, is a non-profit organization dedicated to its mission to collect, organize, preserve, and exhibit historical, political, social, and religious documents, photographs, memorabilia and oral histories as they relate to the Jewish community of Greater Hartford.

By providing historical information and resources to individuals, educational institutions, and civic and social organizations, the JHSGH strives to promote historical research and create community awareness and understanding of the growth and development of the Jewish contributions to the Greater Hartford area.

FROM I-84

EAST: To exit 44 (Prospect Avenue).
Proceed past stop sign on ramp to light (Prospect Avenue).
Turn left onto Prospect Avenue.
Proceed to next light (Prospect Avenue) and turn left.

WEST: To exit 44 (Prospect Avenue).
Turn right at light at end of ramp.
Go 1/2 block to next light (Prospect Avenue) and turn left.

Continue north to the end of Prospect Avenue.
Turn right at light onto Albany Avenue (Rte. 44).
Go 1 block in left lane to light.
Turn left onto Bloomfield Avenue (189 north).
Pass University of Hartford on right.
At traffic light bear left onto Simsbury Road (Rt. 185) and the parking lot driveway is after the Brookdale Place assisted living complex on your right opposite the rear entrance to the Hartford Golf Club.
There is a tall, well- lit directional tower indicating entry to the Community Services Building.
Drive into the parking lot area to the front entrance.

FROM I-91

NORTH: To exit 35-B (Rte. 218 - Windsor-Bloomfield).
Turn left at end of exit.

SOUTH: To exit 35-B (Rte. 218 - Windsor-Bloomfield).
Turn right at end of exit.

Follow 218 west 4½ miles to Rte. 189 South.
Take a left onto 189S/Bloomfield Avenue (traffic light).
Stay on Bloomfield Avenue and at fourth traffic light take a right onto Simsbury Road.
There will be a stop sign immediately.
Turn right (this is access to Simsbury Road).
The Federation parking lot is the driveway after the Sunrise complex and directly opposite the rear entrance of the Hartford Golf Club.
There is a tall, well-lit directional tower indicating entry to the Community Services Building.
Drive into the parking lot area to the front entrance.
